Here's a quick sample of an eBook I made using the app. Once I had my story board planned, images downloaded, and information written down, I started the project. It took about 1 hour to create this book from start to finish. When uploaded on iBooks, students can turn the pages and even have it read to them. It couldn't be easier! This is an app I will definitely use over and over again. Book Creator can also export the books to movie files like this one:

I can't wait to download this app for my students and get started! Thanks Book Creator!

What a fun app that is sure to encourage even struggling readers. i especially like that students can export the book they created as a movie file. This is a great assessment that allows students to demonstrate what they are able to do with knowledge.
ReplyDeleteWow! Book Creator looks like an app that I will need to try out with my students. I think this will fit right in with their love for Keynote and iMovie. I love the ability of this app to adjust and reorganize each page to look exactly how you want it to. I think this is a great opportunity for our kids to show what they know by creating something meaningful. I also really like that the books can be exported. This gives our students the opportunity to share their creation with others.
ReplyDeleteFarah, this certainly does look wonderful. I agree with Susan and Ashley about the flexible options. The option to export the book also makes it easier to integrate the final product into a digital ePortfolio. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteOne question, I see the app price is $5.00 and you made your book/video with the free version. What are the limitations of the free version? Is it just a trial for a certain number of days?
Michelle
Hello Farah,
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun assignment. I would totally do this with my students. I think that this is a fun way to have students write stories instead of just on a piece of paper. I feel like this will make creating stories more meaningful to our students. It is also easy for students to show people their projects when they are finished. This technology can help learners pursue passions and personal interests that they never thought of before. Students can become storytellers and pursue a job in writing books or scripts for movies or TV shows. This is a great app.
